Highlights:

The girls have played awesome. They have really come together as a team and stepped up their performance. We went down to Cape ready to fight and they came out undefeated in pool play and made it two rounds in playoffs, before they lost the match to Dexter in the semi-finals. It was a long day, but they fought for every point and we walked away proud of our accomplishments.

Another proud moment in Cape was we were able to come up against a team we lost to in our first game of the season. We ended up defeating Jefferson R-7 in two sets to put us in the semi-finals of the tournament. It was a good feeling to get redemption and show how much our team has improved.

Tuesday we defeated Parkway South. The girls came out pumped to bring the win on our home court and they did just that. They played as one and our defense really stepped up that game and helped us take that match.

Thursday we lost to Farmington, but walked away proud. We fought hard and took the lead most of the first and second game. We just couldn’t close it out. We saw some weakness on our side, but we are all determined to work on that and be better this weekend at our home tournament. Farmington was a tough team, but the girls came out and hit them hard on offense and rattled their defense. I was proud to see the adjustments we made throughout the game, and win or lose we came out of that match a better team.

Quote:

“I am incredibly proud of my girls. They are working hard and working together. Our record right now is

7-6 which puts us over a 500 season. Not only are they playing hard, but when they play together it’s incredible to watch. They support each other, pick each other up, and genuinely care about one another. As a coach that is what you strive for, a team that puts the team before themselves, and this year I have it.”
